Ch125a
The Elements of Quantum Chemistry.
A first course in molecular quantum mechanics consisting of
a quantitative treatment of quantum mechanics with applications
to systems of interest to chemists. The basic elements of
quantum mechanics are taught in this fall term course.
Ch135b Chemical Dynamics.
The quantum description of chemical reactions. The scattering
matrix. The calculation of reaction cross sections, probabilities,
and rate constants. Collision lifetimes and resonances. Classical
trajectories.
Ch227ab Advanced Topics in Chemical Physics.
The general quantum mechanical theory of molecular collisions
is presented in detail. Quasi-classical, semi-classical, and
other approximations are included. Applications to inelastic
and reactive molecule-molecule and inelastic electron-molecule
collisions are also discussed. This course is offered approximately
every two years.
