Open Faculty Positions

CALIFORNIA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions in the Division of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. Appointments will be contingent upon completion of all requirements for a Ph.D. in chemistry or a closely related field. Outstanding candidates who have strong commitments to research and teaching are encouraged to apply.

Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics. Consideration will be given to exceptionally well-qualified applicants at the assistant, associate and full professor levels. Submit on-line by December 31, 2007, at www.cce.caltech.edu/bmb-search.

Chemical Engineering. We expect to make an appointment at the assistant professor level, but extraordinary candidates may qualify for appointment at the associate or full professor levels. Mail by December 15, 2007, to Chair of the Chemical Engineering Search Committee, Mail Code 210-41.

Organic Chemistry. Consideration will be given to exceptionally well-qualified applicants at the assistant, associate and full professor levels.  Mail by October 15, 2007, to Chair of the Organic Faculty Search Committee, Mail Code 164-30.

Environmental Science and Engineering. Following the endowment of the Ronald and Maxine Linde Center for Global Environmental Science, the California Institute of Technology invites applications for faculty positions in Environmental Science and Engineering, with a focus on climate science. Terms of the initial appointment as assistant professor are four years and contingent upon completion of the Ph.D. Exceptionally qualified applicants may also be considered at the associate or full professor level.
Our focus is on candidates who have an outstanding research record and a strong commitment to teaching. We have the opportunity to make more than one appointment; areas of interest include (but are not limited to):
• Physical Oceanography
• Glaciology and Sea Ice Dynamics
• Cloud Physics and Dynamics
• Global-Scale Biogeochemistry
