The CCE Diversity Committee works with the Division's Diversity Officer to develop new initiatives, steward ongoing programs, coordinate efforts across the Division, and interface with Institute level activities that enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion in CCE.

Division Student Organizations
The goal of the Caltech Women in Chemistry Committee is to support the careers of women in chemistry and related sciences.
The mission of Diversity in Chemistry Initiative (DICI) is to amplify the voices, actions, and successes of under-represented minorities in chemistry at Caltech and beyond.
DEI Coordinators help foster a healthy, diversity-oriented space within their research group and to discuss and encourage participation in DEI-related ideas and initiatives.
CGSC DEI is a subcommittee of the CGSC focused on division wide diversity, equity and inclusion efforts.

Support DEI Efforts
The Division of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Caltech is committed to focus on enhancing the efforts of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our efforts will continue to raise philanthropic funds to bolster historically underrepresented, underserved, and marginalized communities; with explicit intentions to support our members of the community who identify as Black, Indigenous, People of Color, Women, LGBTQIAP+, and persons with disabilities to ensure equitable access.
*Donors have the ability to philanthropically support a specific population if interested. This list is not limited to the specific identified communities listed above.
- Fund will support faculty and students professionally and personally: retention, recruitment, conference participation (registration fee, airline, etc.); and for faculty: attend conferences, visit MSI's, recruit students
- Diversity Seminar Series
- Host potential CCE students
- Support CCE DEI coordinators
- Funds can support outreach efforts, in-person socials, hosting speaker(s)
- Supports students who volunteer on DEI efforts
- Nominations from faculty, faculty advisor, peers, and self-nomination
- "Professional in-residence"
- CCE will provide space and administrative support
- Target underrepresented executives from companies that are/can relate to CCE
- Support one in-residence visiting faculty by a diverse or diversity-supporting scientist in CCE
- Fund will support salary, stipend, traveling and housing
- Visiting faculty will give scientific lecture (if appropriate) and one public lecture
- Length of stay of visiting faculty can be 3 – 6 months

Affinity Groups and organizations provide the Caltech community avenues to explore their passions and hobbies with students as their primary audience. Create new connections, discover new talents and interests, and find a sense of belonging.
